Lake Ossiacher See
Lake Ossiacher See is Carinthia’s third largest, offering visitors a boundless diversity of activities. Water sports enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with paddling, sailing, windsurfing or waterskiing. The Ossiacher See cycle path encircling the lake is ideally suited for pleasurable outings with the whole family, while the surrounding Alpine landscape also has mountain bike routes ready to test the physical condition of advanced adventure-seeking bikers. From Feldkirchen the lake is easily accessible within a few minutes’ car drive.

Lake Wörthersee

An almost Mediterranean climate and a sunny southern atmosphere make Lake Wörthersee one of the most popular of Carinthia’s lakes. Lake St. Urbaner See

Only a 10 minute drive from Feldkirchen, this idyllic swimming lake, despite its altitude of 750 m, reaches a water temperature of up to 27° C in summer. Its latest attraction, a water trampoline, provides fun-packed times for visitors of all ages. The generously spaced bathing beach featuring a large sunbathing lawn, volleyball field, table tennis and lakeshore hiking paths invite families to spend a relaxing day at the lake.

Klagenfurt

Klagenfurt, the most southern provincial capital of Austria, attracts visitors with temperamental flair, a beautiful old town and varied leisure time programs. Happ Reptile Zoo

Villach

Villach with some 60,000 residents is Carinthia’s second largest town. Historically fascinating and well-known for its cultural diversity and sporting offers this charming town is always worth a visit.
Those interested in the town’s history will be in good hands with the free guided tours (each Friday at 10 am, departure point at Bahnhofstraße 3). But it is not only visitors with a passion for history who find what they are looking for in Villach – the manifold shopping options, the varied leisure time activities as well as the traditional local lifestyle (renowned through the Villacher Fasching, the town’s carnival and the Villacher Kirchtag, the church fair) makes Villach an attractive and popular destination all year round.

Friesach. Medieval showplace
Friesach is the oldest town in Carinthia celebrating its 800th anniversary in 2015. The town, above all, is famous for its particularly well-preserved medieval buildings which can still be visited, as well as the fortifications, comprising a surrounding wall and water-filled moat.

In Friesach guests are not only invited to journey through the past, moreover, the Middle Ages can be experienced on the spot! A medieval castle with medieval construction methods and tools is being built in the town of castles! The construction site is open to visitors daily (Monday to Friday 11 am und 3 pm, except on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am 1.30 pm und 3 pm) (from April to October).

Bad Kleinkirchheim

Bad Kleinkirchheim is a year-round excursion destination. In summer visitors enjoy the crisp mountain air of the gentle Nockberge Mountains during hikes, cycling or mountain biking tours or later replenish energy in the soothing waters of the thermal spas Römerbad and St. Kathrein or the Karlbad farm spa.

Liebenfels adventure water trail

An adventure for body and mind. Experience nature with all your senses along the Liebenfels adventure water trail, only a short car drive from Feldkirchen. The hiking trail follows the water through the romantic Harterbach rift to the small village of Hart. Hikers are impressed by both the 25m waterfall and the ancient mill ruins in idyllic meadow countryside. Heidi-Alm pasture, the children’s adventure park

The only family adventure park of its kind, Heidi Alm Alpine pasture at Falkert Mountain, is one of the most popular excursion destinations close to Feldkirchen. It’s only a 30 minutes’ car drive to the family theme trail that brings the Heidi story to life as told by over 120 cartoon characters.
