Take a break from everyday life – at the natural beach of lake Maltschacher See

Due to its size and relative flatness (depth of no more than 6.5 meters) lake Maltschacher See ranks among the warmest swimming lakes of Carinthia. The undeveloped shore scenery not only promises tranquility and calm for the whole family but also provides an important habitat for protected bird and fish species. As motor boats are not permitted on the lake, the water surface (8 hectares) remains entirely reserved for the recreation of bathing guests.

Although admission to the public bathing beach Maltschacher See is free, the lake still remains a secret tip! The wonderful traffic-free landscape surrounding the lake entices families to explore the beautiful scenery in a leisurely manner either on foot, by bike or horse.

Also in winter lake Maltschacher See beckons with great variety: Ice-skating or ice-hockey on the frozen surface, ice-stick shooting and winter excursions on foot or horse-back are a memorable experience for the entire family
